HOW LONG DOES SMP LAST?
Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a semi-permanent treatment, and the results typically last between 4 to 6 years. After this period, the patient may notice some slight fading, at which point they can undergo a touch-up procedure to restore any lost color and definition.
However, the duration can vary depending on several factors, including:
Skin Type: Different skin types can affect how well the pigment is retained. For example, oilier skin types may experience faster fading.
Lifestyle: Exposure to sun and regular use of saunas or steam rooms can accelerate fading.
Aftercare: Proper aftercare can prolong the results. This includes avoiding sun exposure on the scalp for the first few days after the treatment, and using a high SPF sunscreen once the scalp has healed to protect against future sun exposure.
